This morning as I awoke, the song, “Bigger Than,” was ringing in my ears. Loudly. Once my conscious mind became fully aware, the lyrics awakened my soul with such joy. I instantly knew that the topic I had planned to write about today had to CHANGE! Continue reading “God is Bigger”
When I searched the definitions of withstand, one caught my eye and quickly became my favorite, only because it was easy for my pea brain to understand. 🙂 The Google Dictionary:
Withstand: to remain undamaged or unaffected by; resist
Occasionally, you hear a story that really impacts you. Back in the late 90’s, a tornado ripped through the middle of Alabama. Continue reading “Withstanding the Storm”
This morning, I want to continue where we left off yesterday. Let’s talk about the second benefit of having courage – we will PERSEVERE.
What does it mean?
The Free Online Dictionary defines Persevere as:
To persist in or remain constant to a purpose, idea, or task in the face of obstacles or discouragement. Continue reading “Don’t Stop – Keep Going (otherwise known as perseverence)”
Every blogger has a reason for writing, right? What’s mine? Well, it can be summed up in Colossians 2:2 NIV. (Click for full verse) I truly have a passion for you to live the life that Christ died to give you.
Yes, I know He died so we could live with God eternally. Jesus also came, though, so that we could have life abundantly (John 10:10). That doesn’t mean some day. Far off. When we die. After living in misery here. It means that He came so that we can have an abundant life while we wait for eternity. THAT is my goal for you. To realize what has been given. For you to come to the full understanding of your relationship with Him and your relationship with His people. Continue reading “Your Courage – My Purpose”
As this challenge kicks off today, I find myself tiptoeing into this experience as one tiptoes across the floor in stillness of night. Quietly. Trying to not disturb anyone. Hoping to avoid drawing attention to myself. It’s just who I am; timid in many ways.
As I contemplated what I would even write on this first day of the challenge, I read these words in Apostle Paul’s letter to the Corinthians (I Corinthians 2:3-5). Continue reading “Masterpiece of Timidity”
Am I Crazy? What Did I Do?
All I wanted was enter a 31-day writing challenge. Sounded like a lot of fun. Boy! I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I had to find a web host, obtain a domain name, create a logo and thumbnail image for the site, and settle on a topic for this daily blog. I love to write, but I am totally out of my element with the other parts of the challenge. If it wasn’t for the fact that I am far too hard-headed to give up, I would have thrown in the towel at that first obstacle.
Yet, here I am . . . web host obtained, domain name selected, images created, and writing my first blog.
So, how about you, reader? Where does my plunge into the blog-world find you? Are you tired? Do you feel like giving up right now? Well, don’t do it! Hang in there. Stay with me for this 31-day blog. Come back for a daily dose of encouragement as we dig into what it really means to be encouraged in heart and united in love.
